WABANAKI LAND Acknowledgment

Project GRACE acknowledges that it is located in the traditional homeland of Algonquian-speaking nations in a place once called Owascoag, Land of Many Grasses. We recognize the sovereignty of the Abenaki, Maliseet, Mi'kmaq, Passamaquoddy, and Penobscot Nations, known collectively as the Wabanaki Confederation, People of the Dawnland, who have stewarded this precious land throughout the generations, past and present. In offering this acknowledgment Project GRACE affirms indigenous sovereignty, history, and experiences.
