Our Mission
To improve the lives of our Scarborough neighbors by identifying both those in need and those willing to share their gifts, and coordinating the interchange in a compassionate, confidential manner. Granting Resources and Assistance through Community Effort Project G.R.A.C.E. (Granting Resources and Assistance through Community Effort) is a volunteer nonprofit in Scarborough, Maine. We provide direct services, foster community initiatives, lead collaborative solutions, convene stakeholders and change agents.

OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITY AWARD
Awarded by the Scarborough Economic Development Corporation (2013)
The Scarborough Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) named recipients of its 2013 Outstanding Business Awards at the group’s 28th annual meeting held at the Black Point Inn. “The companies receiving awards this year go beyond running great businesses,” said SEDCO Executive Director Karen Martin. “They’ve become part of the Scarborough landscape and have made Scarborough a better community.”Stuart Axelrod, chairman of SEDCO’s board of directors, noted that the selection of all four honorees was unanimous. Project G.R.A.C.E. is very pleased to be recognized, and sees this award as belonging to all our steadfast volunteers, supporters, and partners.

This prestigious honor was awarded to Project G.R.A.C.E. volunteers, Len and Liane Giambalvo, by Scarborough Terrace. Len and Liane's many volunteer roles include answering recipient phone calls, working 'behind the scenes' to improve Project GRACE's administration, making countless calls to sign people up for Joe4Oil heating assistance, coordinating the delivery of supplemental food boxes for seniors, and volunteering for the Scarborough Food Pantry. Both are compassionate, thoughtful, and generous in their approach to helping their neighbors. We are honored to have them working with us and congratulate Len and Liane on receiving this much-deserved recognition!

This prestigious honor was awarded to Project G.R.A.C.E. volunteer, Jim Elkins, the first-ever recipient of the Scarborough Terrace Assisted Living Senior Service Award. Jim’s many volunteer roles include answering recipient phone calls, chairing the Granting Resources Committee, and serving on the Board of Directors. Jim is a principled and compassionate volunteer who makes a marked difference in lives of our neighbors and Project G.R.A.C.E. everyday. We are honored to have him working with us and congratulate Jim on receiving this much-deserved recognition!
